MOBILITY

Explore new academic and professional horizons through EULiST mobility programs across our network of 11 European partner universities. Whether you are a student, researcher, or staff member, our alliance offers diverse international opportunities designed to foster knowledge sharing, cross-border collaboration, and personal growth.

BIPs: Blended Intensive Programmes

Some of the most memorable learning happens in a short space of time, with people you would never have met.

Teachers from at least three EULiST universities design a course together around a shared question. The result is a programme that no single university could offer on its own: several disciplines, several teaching traditions and several countries brought into the same room.

Onsite part

The group meets on one campus for a period of five days to a month, to work intensively through lectures, workshops, lab sessions, field visits or projects with local partners

Online part

An online learning and collaboration phase, taking place before, during or after the physical mobility. It brings together students from participating universities to work collaboratively towards shared learning objectives.

Participants

STUDENTS, TEACHERS AND STAFF
Students earn at least 3 ECTS credits, recognised by their home university. Staff can join as teachers or, in some programmes, as participants.

TAKE PART

A few days on another campus can change the way you see your field, and sometimes the way you see yourself

Funding

There are no tuition fees to pay; you remain enrolled at your home university. Your stay is financed by an Erasmus+ grant, with additional support for green travel and for students with fewer opportunities, and the credits you earn, at least 3 ECTS, count towards your degree.

Who it's for

Students at every level and cover a wide range of subjects. Many bring together engineers, social scientists and designers around the same question, so you learn with people who think differently from you. Because courses are short, they fit into your studies without disrupting them, and they are a good first step if you have never studied abroad.

When ?

BIPs take place all year round, during the semester and in summer, so there is nearly always one coming up. Contact your home university to apply.

FOR STAFF

  • BIPs are also a way to work alongside colleagues from across the alliance. Academics can teach in a programme designed with partner universities, and some BIPs are built specifically for staff, around a shared theme or a training need.
  • Your participation is usually funded through your university’s Erasmus+ staff mobility. Your international office can tell you how to take part.

OUR IMPACT STORIES

BIPs Bring Students Together: Exploring the human and political dimensions of Europe’s energy transition

Students from Jönköping University (Sweden), Rey Juan Carlos University (Spain), and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (Finland) colaborated in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Green Governance and Energy Transition (GREET). Through a combination of online collaboration and in-person learning, the programme offered students a unique opportunity to work across borders and disciplines to tackle one of Europe’s most pressing challenges.

The Human Side of Sustainability

The GREET programme focused on the societal, political, and governance dimensions of the energy transition, demonstrating how sustainability challenges are shaped not only by technology and economics.

Empowering Minds Across Borders

“One of the most valuable aspects of the course is seeing students put theory into practice. Through the role-play simulation, they learn to analyse complex societal challenges, argue from different stakeholder perspectives, and negotiate realistic compromises. For us as teachers, the BIP is an inspiring and rewarding collaboration that opens new opportunities for both education and research.”
