EULiST BIP at TU Wien: Green Hydrogen – From Renewable Energy to Sustainable Applications, 2026
Organizer, coorganizers:
TU Wien (TUW) is organizing the BIP “Green Hydrogen – From Renewable Energy to Sustainable Applications” in cooperation with IMT and the University of L’Aquila.
Date:
The first online component will take place on 01 July 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. A second online component will be held for half a day in week 40. The on-site phase will take place from 30 August to 04 September 2026 at TU Wien, Getreidemarkt 9, 1060 Vienna, Austria.
Target Audience:
Master’s or PhD students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
Areas:
Green hydrogen, renewable energy conversion, hydrogen production, hydrogen transport and storage, industrial applications, mobility, energy systems, decarbonisation, sustainability, techno-economic analysis, and environmental assessment.
Objectives and description:
This Blended Intensive Programme covers the entire value chain of green hydrogen, a key component of the global transition towards a climate-neutral energy system. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how renewable energy can be converted into hydrogen, how hydrogen can be transported and stored, and how it can be used across industry, mobility, and the energy sector. By combining scientific foundations, technological insights, economic and environmental analysis, and practical case studies, the programme highlights both the opportunities and challenges of building a sustainable hydrogen economy. It connects innovative approaches with practical implementation strategies and enables participants to critically assess the role of hydrogen in decarbonisation and actively contribute to shaping future energy systems.
Number of ECTS: 3
Upon successful completion of the programme, students will earn 3 ECTS credits, awarded by TU Wien.
Recognition of these credits remains subject to the regulations of the students’ home universities and will be documented in the Diploma Supplement.
