16th EULiST “Fridays for Research” event on “Pavement Engineering towards Smart Cities”
The 16th EULiST “Fridays for Research” event on “Pavement Engineering towards Smart Cities” will be held as a joint online meeting on Friday 30th October 2026, 12:00 – 14:00 CET.
Representatives from the EULiST member universities will deliver 5-minute presentations on the following indicative topics:
- Circularity & low-carbon (reclaimed asphalt pavements, bio-binders, warm-mix, piezoelectric materials)
- Climate adaptation (permeable, cool pavements)
- Smart sensing (embedded & non-destructive testing sensors)
- Digital twins (data-driven/predictive pavement maintenance, Artificial Intelligence)
- Mobility & safety (friction, roughness)
- Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of pavements (environmental and social impact)
- Urban environmental monitoring (flooding, noise, air quality, urban microclimate)
This event will be followed by a 10-minute conversation to encourage more research partnerships.
A review of the main results and a presentation of the next actions will wrap up the session.
