EULiST Codex Community Build at TU Wien: a hands-on day of building with AI

DATE 28 November 2026

On Saturday, 28 November 2026, TU Wien welcomes students, researchers and builders to the EULiST Codex Community Build, a free, hands-on day of building software and workflows with AI. Participants work with OpenAI tools, including Codex, the OpenAI API and ChatGPT, supported by experienced mentors from three EULiST universities: TU Wien, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) and Brno University of Technology (BUT).

Unlike a hackathon, there are no prizes and no competition. The focus is on learning and building at your own pace: bring your own idea, team up with others on the day, or join guided workshops and challenges. Two tracks fit different backgrounds. The Non-

Technical Track is for participants new to building software, and the Technical Track is for developers and engineers who want to explore agentic coding workflows. No coding experience or prior AI expertise is needed.

OpenAI grants all participants free Codex access and API credits for the event. Breakfast, lunch, coffee and drinks are provided.

The event is hosted by TU Wien in collaboration with EULiST and organised by Alex Gavrilescu, OpenAI Codex Ambassador, together with mentors from TU Wien, STU Bratislava and BUT Brno. It takes place in English at the TU Wien Main Building, Karlsplatz 13 (Entrance AE, Paniglgasse 12, 1040 Vienna), from 09:30 to 18:00. Participation is free, but places are limited.
