EULiST in «NTUA Open Labs 2026
16-19 March 2026
The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) successfully concluded its “Open Laboratories 2026” initiative, further establishing it as an important platform for outreach and engagement between the academic community, younger generations, and society at large.
From 16 to 19 March 2026, more than 7,000 visitors and representatives from 165 schools across Athens and other regions of Greece visited the NTUA campus and explored 50 of the University’s flagship laboratories. Over the course of four days, students, teachers, and members of the public had the opportunity to engage directly with scientific research, technological applications, and the innovative work carried out daily within the University’s facilities.
The organized visits offered a comprehensive hands-on experience, allowing participants to interact with students, researchers, and members of the academic community, attend presentations and demonstrations, and discover firsthand how theoretical knowledge is transformed into innovative solutions and technological applications. The strong attendance and enthusiastic interest shown by students highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening young people’s connection with science and technology.
EULiST participated in the event through dedicated information corners hosted in several NTUA Schools, where visitors had the opportunity to learn about the Alliance’s vision, objectives, and activities. Students, university students, and teachers were introduced to the opportunities and prospects that EULiST offers to learners at its member institutions, including:
- International collaboration opportunities
- Mobility and academic exchange programmes
- Participation in joint educational and research activities
- Skills development and specialization in a wide range of academic fields
- Networking opportunities and the development of interpersonal connections within a modern European academic environment
The presence of EULiST highlighted the opportunities for international cooperation and academic mobility offered by the European University Alliance to students across its member institutions. Direct exposure to European initiatives of this kind inspires young people, fosters creativity and critical thinking, and reinforces the role of the Alliance’s member universities as drivers of knowledge advancement, innovation, and international collaboration with a strong societal impact.
