EULiST BIP on Challenge-Based and Project-Based Learning at BUT, Autumn 2025

This Blended Intensive Programme aims to develop the challenge-based learning methodology in conjunction with project-based learning, which is often used in arts-oriented education. This approach encourages creativity, independent thinking, and the ability to go beyond traditional academic boundaries. Within the EULiST alliance of European universities, comprising ten institutions with diverse cultural and academic approaches, the programme will emphasise international collaboration and innovative pedagogical methods.

The programme will reflect key aspects of sustainability, inclusion, and digital transformation, with solutions designed to fit the priorities of Erasmus+ and the long-term goals of the EULiST Alliance.

Target Participants:

  • Academic staff from any discipline
  • Student representatives (EULiST Student Board and other active students)
  • Total number of participants: 16

Topics to be Covered:

  • Principles of Challenge-based and Design-based Learning
  • Reflections from student representatives on educational methodologies
  • Intercultural dimensions in education
  • Integrating current societal and development challenges into teaching
  • Co-creating the draft for the pilot microcredential course on CBL

The BIP includes cultural programme, such as a guided tour of Villa Tugendhat and explorations of Brno’s architectural landmarks.
