Finding connections: Building a Network for Career Collaborations: On-site course for Doctoral and Postdoctoral students at LUH, 17 and 18 January 2025
The Leibniz University of Hannover (LUH) invites doctoral and postdoctoral students from all EULiST partner institutions to participate in an on-site workshop designed to elevate their networking skills: “Finding connections: Building a Network for Career Collaborations”.
Course details:
- Date: Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18, 2025
- Time: 3 pm – 6:30 pm and 9 am – 4:30 pm
- Trainer: Rob Thompson, RTTA – soft skills for real results
During the workshop you will have the opportunity to:
- Make a high impact on potential employers or collaboration partners making them more likely to want to work with you.
- Become the “preferred candidate” or even have positions created specifically for you.
- Access the hidden job market of unadvertised positions when job hunting.
- Gather the information needed to aid the job hunt and salary negotiations.
- Gather the information needed to help you plan your ideal career.
- Give yourself the edge over others who use the more usual methods of contacting people.
- Actively manage the progress of your search.
- Reliably find an institute or group that is right for you to collaborate with.
- Job hunt in a way that is interesting and not demoralising.
