The Power of Networking for Scientists and Engineers (English), On-Site Workshop at TUW, 1 December 2025

TU Wien warmly invites the EULiST PhD students to attend the Workshop “The Power of Networking for Scientists and Engineers” to be held in-person:

When: Monday, December 1, 10:30 – 17:00

Where: TUW Premises, Resselgasse 4 Vortragsraum TUW Library, 1040, Vienna

Trainer: Simone Poetscher

During this workshop TU Wien DOC school students will:

✔️ Identify their personal motivations: to get crystal clear about their very own networking goals.

✔️ Learn about the new “people-first” way of networking: so connecting with others is less awkward, never fake, and meant to last.

✔️ Become clear about relevant players in their network: by analyzing who is vs. who should be in their network, and whom to focus future efforts on.

✔️ Pinpoint opportunities for proactive outreach: so they can strategically expand their network and not leave their circle of support up to chance.

✔️ Build a plan to diversify their connections: to enjoy a differentiated set of backgrounds, opinions, skills, experiences, and reach.

✔️ Plan for the long run: by understanding how to build and nurture strong and meaningful relationships that last.

✔️ Develop their own personal networking strategy: based on tried and practiced insights and directed by hands-on exercises in their workbook.

Availability: 5 places for PhD students of EULiST partner universities
