PRO-SLO PhD School on 3-7 February and 7-11 April 2025, Call for Applications

On behalf of the EIT RawMaterials RIS Hub Greece, we are excited to announce the Call for Applications for the PRO-SLO School for PhD students who are determined to make a difference in the raw materials sector. This specialized education program aims to help PhD students tackle complex issues of Social License to Operate (SLO).

Program Details:

  1. Online Sessions: February 3-7, 2025
    • Comprehensive coverage of basic SLO principles from legal, societal, ethical, and environmental perspectives.
    • Interactive learning with sessions not exceeding 3 hours per day.
  1. Mentorship Period:

Following the online sessions, regular online meetings with mentors to discuss and prepare for the case study.

  1. On-Site Immersion: April 7-11, 2025
    • Location: Adriatic Metals, Vareš, Bosnia and Herzegovina
    • Practical Case-Study to develop SLO methodologies with support from academic and industry mentors.

Get ready for:

  • An in-depth understanding of the concept and principles of SLO in the mining industry.
  • Insights into stakeholder dynamics and community interactions to establish a legitimate SLO.
  • Beginner-friendly learning, no prior experience required.
  • Free participation for all selected students.
  • 4 ECTS credits, a certificate and inclusion to EIT Alumni and employment database

The PRO-SLO school aims to deepen your understanding of societal, ethical, and environmental issues in the raw materials sector, fostering sustainable and socially responsible practices.
